Biotechnology Outcomes

  1. Students who complete the degree requirements for the Biotechnology major should have a broad knowledge of the sciences as they apply to biotechnology including biology, chemistry and physics.
  2. Students should be able to think critically and apply analytical skills.
  3. Students will perform laboratory techniques and practices used in the field such as calculations, instrumentation and safety procedures.
  4. Graduates of the Biotechnology program can effectively communicate scientific information to lay and scientific audiences
  5. Graduates of the Biotechnology program will be aware of the social implications of biotechnology including 
    • The impact of biotechnology at the global level
    • How biotechnology has shaped human history and development
    • The ethics of biotechnology
