The educational conference, Navigating the Gap: Crises in Urban Education, will be held on April 6, 2012 at Worcester State University’s Blue Lounge. The conference will begin at 7:45AM and run until 3:00PM. There will be three breakout panels/lectures during the conference, each discussing current issues in education in Massachusetts schools. Lt. Governor Timothy Murray is the invited Keynote Speaker.
The first panel, Overcoming the Language Barrier, features Dr. Bertha-Elena Rojas, bilingual School Psychologist, and Michelle Cadavid, (MS, CAGS), bilingual Head School Psychologist, both from the Worcester Public School system.
The second lecture, Privatizing Education: The Effects on Public Schools, is lead by Dr. James Horn, Associate Professor from Cambridge College.
Lt. Governor Timothy Murray will be giving his keynote address at lunch.
The third session, Public Education: Pipeline to Prison, will be led by Dr. Kathleen Lynch, Senior Instructor and Dissertation Chair and Dr. Fernando Padro, Associate Professor, both at Cambridge College.
