Dear Class of 2012,
On behalf of the trustees, faculty and staff of Worcester State University, congratulations on your outstanding accomplishment. Celebrating your graduation with your friends and families is truly the high point of my first year as serving as your president. I am confident that you are academically well prepared to meet the challenges that await you and that you will go on to do great things.
I am very proud of this class. You have not only achieved academically, but you have contributed your time and talents in service to others both in our neighborhoods and abroad.
The foundation for your success was laid in 1876 when the first class of students graduated from what was then the “Worcester Normal School.” The ensuing years have seen both the growth of our campus and our academic offerings, and our transition to a college and then to a university, but our commitment to rigorous academics and our graduates will always remain steadfast.
Please stay connected to Worcester State University. We are proud to be your partner in your professional and personal development. We will always be here if you need us.
With warmest best wishes for your future,
Barry M. Maloney
