In most outside placements, a criminal background check is required.  In addition, many placements require a drug/alcohol screening.  This also is true in many hospitals, clinics, and schools where students may seek a job after completion of the Master of Science degree.  If students feel that they may not be able to pass one or both of these screening procedures, they should seek the advice of a graduate advisor or of staff in the Career or Counseling Centers.
