WSU Chapter National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (WSU-NSSLHA)

The National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) is a nationally recognized organization for students interested in the field of communication sciences and disorders.  However, at the university level, it is also a local organization. Students who are receiving their bachelor’s or master’s degree may join at either or both levels.

Students who join at the national level receive numerous benefits (e.g., complimentary access to American Speech-Language-Hearing Association [ASHA] journals, liability, medical, and dental insurance and reduced registration fee at the ASHA convention). Students who participate at the local (Worcester State University) level do not receive the benefits of national membership. All NSSLHA members (i.e., undergraduate and graduate) may participate at the local level.

At Worcester State University, the NSSLHA Chapter is designed to support and encourage participation and socialization within the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department. Activities typically include numerous fundraisers and community volunteer programs.
