Studios and Facilities

  • New Street Glass Studio

    Hot shop, Cold shop, Flame shop - we've got it all!

    At our Glass Studio, we teach youth and adult classes, provide studio rentals—including hot-shop, cold-shop, flame-shop options, and kiln rental. We also offer space to artists-in-residence. Glass artists also can take advantage of our kiln-rental offering.

    This 8,000-square-foot studio is off-site, located at 35B New Street in Worcester. Call or email to inquire about rentals, class information, or to schedule a private lesson, private class, or demonstration.

    Glassblowing Demonstrations and a Tour of NSG is an available option for people interesting in learning about the processes and seeing what we have available at New Street. Participants will tour through the various studios while processes and programs are explained in detail. Demonstrations in the Hot Shop and Flame Shop are options. An outreach contract must be completed to reserve a date and time at least 10 days before the visit. All pricing and scheduling is done through the glass department head. Fees vary from $80-$150 for a 1 ½ hour demo and ½ hour tour.

    Open studio hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 5:30pm-9:30pm and 2pm-6pm on Saturdays.

    Open studio is free to students enrolled in a 6 week class for the use of the cold shop or sandblaster.
    Walk in rental of the flame-shop torches is also allowed during open studio.
    All hot shop and kiln rentals, or studio use during non open studio hours are by appointment.
