Frequently Asked Questions

Q. I don't have the school insurance, can I come to Student Health Services?

YES,  the service is available to all matriculated undergratuate students, full time, part-time, commuter, resident.  All students pay a fee as part of their tuition that provides them this service.

Q. How much does it cost to use the services?

There is no charge when you come for an appointment at Student Health Services.  There is no co-payment and we do not submit a charge to your health insurance.  The only time your health insurance becomes involved is if an outside service is necessary, such as lab work, x-rays, diagnostic tests, and specialist visits.

Q. Do I need an appointment to be seen?

We prefer that you make an appointment if you want to be seen by a provider.  We can usually see you the same day you call, or the next day at the latest.  We attempt to work around your schedule as much as possible.  Walk-ins may be taken depending upon provider availability, but priority is given to those with appointments, so at certain times, the wait can be long.

Q. Do you alert professors, deans, parents about students' visits?

Any visit to Student Health Services is completely confidential, as is your medical record here.  No information is given to anyone without your written permission.
