Internships
Would you like to earn college credit for real-world experience in a history-related workplace? Consider an internship in a museum, archives, court, legal office, or government agency. You'd be performing a variety of tasks at the beginning professional level in one of our cooperating institutions. Past interns have worked at the Higgins Armory, Sturbridge Village, the Worcester Historical Museum, law offices, libraries, Probation Court, and in Washington D.C. An internship is a form of experiential learning that permits WSU students to convert theory into action.
Worcester State University students in good standing are eligible for placement into an internship, provided they meet departmental requirements. You may apply up to 12 academic credits toward graduation.
In addition, Worcester State University participates in a program of the Washington Center for Internship and Academic Seminars, which combines experience in the public, private, or non-profit sectors in Washington D.C. with academic learning. An internship through the Washington Center provides a unique opportunity to explore career paths while sampling the intellectual and cultural diversity of our nation's capital. A Washington Center internship must be taken for credit, so it is imperative that you meet with a faculty sponsor early in the semester prior to the one you'd like to spend in Washington.
For more information about internship opportunities, please see Professor David Twiss or the Office of Career Services.
