    As an Intensive English Language Institute student, you also are a Worcester State University student. We encourage you to take advantage of the services provided specifically for IELI students and the many student activities happening around campus. In addition, take time to explore the city of Worcester—the second largest city in Massachusetts and the 9th “most livable city” in the United States, according to Forbes magazine.

  • Your Gmail Account
    Worcester State University provides IELI students with student email accounts.

    Once you have successfully registered for a class, your WSU network login information, which includes your username and the password, will be mailed to the U.S. mailing address on your registration form. Your username and password will allow you to access your new WSU Gmail account,

    You can access WSU Gmail system through the myWSU student portal or typing in the url bar of your Internet browser.

    You also may visit University Technology Services located in the Learning Resource Center, Suite 310. Be sure to take a picture ID with you to obtain this information.
    Your WSU Student ID
    The official identification card for all Worcester State University students and employees is called the OneCard. Your OneCard also works like a debit card, and you can make deposits to your account online. It is important to take care of your OneCard as if it were your bank card or driver’s license.

    Whether you have concerns about your schoolwork, the IELI program, or life in the United States, you'll find that the staff and instructors of IELI and Worcester State are here to help and advise you.

    IELI Staff
    Please contact us with any questions about our programs, applying, registering, homestay, adjusting to life in the United States, tuition and payments, applying to WSU for undergraduate or graduate school after IELI, and policies.

    Our instructors can answer your questions regarding schoolwork, the WSU campus, and life in the United States.

    International Programs Office
    If you can’t find the answer to your student visa, I-20, or immigration question on our VISA FAQs page, WSU’s International Programs Office is available to help you.     Disability Services
    The Disability Services Office, located on the 1st floor of the Shaughnessy Administration Building, assists students with documented disabilities. Visit the Disability Services Office web page to learn more about services and accommodations.

    Tutoring Services
    Registered IELI students are eligible to sign up for free tutoring for a maximum of 2 times per week. IELI tutors are WSU students, retired IELI instructors, ESL professionals, and other qualified members of the general public. Contact Leah Guzman to learn more.
    Dining Services
    You can use money you deposit in your OneCard account to purchase food and beverages at the 6 dining locations around campus. Visit the Chartwells portal to learn more about dining locations, menus, and hours of operation.
    myWSU Student Portal

    The myWSU student portal houses the following:

    • Academic and administrative services for students
    • OneCard account access, including online deposit
    • Important notices
    • WSU’s emergency notification system
    • And more…

    You will be required to enter your WSU login credentials to access the portal.

    Buddy Program
    In our Buddy Program, volunteers from the Worcester community open their hearts and their homes to IELI students for 1-3 hours a week. Go shopping, play ball, discuss politics, or explore other common interests in an informal setting that allows for more natural English acquisition while forming potentially lifelong friendships!     Certificate of Completion
    At the end of each semester, we hold a ceremony to award certificates of completion to our successful students. We invite the WSU community and encourage students to invite their family and friends to join in the celebration. If you are an exceptional IELI student, we may ask you to share your personal story and the ways learning English at IELI will help you in the future.
