Gladys Wood
Food Stamp Outreach Program

Gladys, an elder student taking classes toward a Certificate in Gerontology through the Consortium Gerontology Studies Program, served as Program Coordinator for the IUI’s Food Stamp Outreach Program, working offsite at St. Paul’s Outreach in Worcester. She now works at St. Paul’s Elder Outreach and still assists in IUI hunger projects.

In 2003, Gladys retired from her position as a coordinator for the Office of the Worcester Area Cooperating Libraries, a program of the Worcester Consortium for Higher Education. She plans to continue taking classes and filling her retirement with “learning and new experiences."

Gladys keeps busy volunteering at her church and hosting quilting classes in her home. As for her family, Gladys states: “It is my joy that I have five children and five grandchildren to love and cherish.  They enrich my life and keep me young at heart,” says Gladys.
