Lauren Burgess is a senior at WSC majoring in communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Urban Studies. Although she loves being at home with her mom, dad, and two brothers, it is her goal to someday move to NYC and have her own PR company. While in college, Lauren has made it her mission to learn about the world she lives in; meeting wonderful, interesting individuals along the way. Working with the Commonwealth Corps has given her an appreciation for every little thing in her life and has taught her to take nothing for granted. The corps has been a great way to help the community while working with incredibly inspirational, hard working, and motivational people of all ages.
Lauren will be graduating this May and is very excited for life outside of school. She looks towards the future with an optimistic attitude and plans to continue her community service for years to come.
This is a great quote to that Lauren likes to live by...
To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded. -RWE
