Current Student Learning Assessment of the Majors
The assessment of the majors is the assessment of student learning outcomes for all academic majors on a rotation basis. Each academic major assesses their student learning outcomes every two years. The work is accomplished through a variety of quantitative and qualitative means from essays with rubrics to e-portfolios assessing a sample of students in the program. A faculty assessment liaison from each department spearheads the assessment in conjunction with the assessment office and a team of faculty from their department.
A new set of guidelines have been proposed and submitted to Governance, spring 2012. The new guidelines include an evaluation rubric for departments to receive feedback. The original guidelines are available. Programs undergoing review:
