Intensive ESL Program

  • Intensive ESL Fees and Costs

    Required fees for our Intensive ESL Program

    Application fee: $50 USD (non-refundable)
    Tuition deposit required: $100 (non-refundable; will be applied to tuition)

    Tuition: full-time Intensive ESL Program (20 hours per week)

    • fall and spring semesters (14 weeks): $3,450
    • summer session (10 weeks): $2,675
    • summer session (5 weeks): $1,800

    Tuition: part-time Intensive ESL classes

    • fall and spring semesters (14 weeks): $750 per topic (Note: Reading/Writing is 2 days and costs $1,500.)
    • summer session (10 weeks): $625 per topic (Note: Reading/Writing is 2 days and costs $1,250.)
    • summer session (5 weeks): $400 per topic (Note: Reading/Writing is 2 days and costs $800.)
    • If you pay your tuition in full by the early payment date, you save $100 for the full-time program or $25 for individual classes.
    • If you take a placement test on a date other than what is on our calendar, you will be charged a $100 fee.
    • If you pay your tuition after the placement test date, a late fee of $100 will be charged for the full-time program or $25 for individual classes.

    Payments

    Tuition can be paid by credit card, check, money order, or using peerTransfer

    Other Costs
    • Books: On average, books cost between $200 and $300 per semester.
    • Medical Insurance: The cost of medical insurance varies based on the amount of coverage you choose. On average medical insurance costs $750 per year.
    • WSU Health Services: There is a $55 fee for use of WSU's Health Services that all student visa-holders pay each fall and spring semester. You can pay this fee when you pay your tuition in the IELI office. See Medical Requirements for more info.
    • Housing and Food: Housing in the Worcester area generally costs approximately $1,000 monthly for a Homestay or apartment rental. In addition, you will need to spend about $300 per month for food. Many students choose to stay with family or friends in the Worcester area.
