Latinos Involved in Discovering Educational Resources (LIDER) is an educational afterschool program that engages the student and her/his parents in activities that facilitate access to higher education in order to increase enrollment of Latino students in colleges and universities. It serves Latino families of the Worcester Public schools. The program offers an annual “Latino Family College Fair," informational workshops, college open house visits, campus tours and info sessions, individual college counseling, college application and financial aid application assistance, parent seminars and referrals. The program strives to educate Latino families in order to reduce barriers and demystify the college application and enrollment process.

·         LIDER Senior is a college readiness program for high school seniors and runs for 16 weeks meeting once a week for a two hour period. College visits are scheduled once a month.

·         LIDER Junior is an SAT Prep program for high school juniors and runs for seven weeks meeting twice a week for a three hour period. One college visit is scheduled.

·         LIDER Middle is an early college awareness program for eighth grade students and runs for four weeks meeting twice a week for a two hour period.  A Worcester State College campus tour is scheduled.

·         LIDER is funded in part by the Hanover Foundation.
