(Worcester, Mass.) -- Worcester State University will host a concert entitled “Music to Change the World” with Joe Jencks on Monday, December 5 from 7-9 p.m. in the Sullivan Building Eager Auditorium. The concert is part of the theme semester series, Worcester in the World.
Jencks is a singer, international touring performer, and an award-winning songwriter who has released seven albums. His interest in folk music lead him to undergraduate and graduate studies in vocal music performance, choral conducting, and music education. He has spent the last nine years touring the world and is noted for his unique merging of music, social consciousness, and spiritual exploration. His career is based on ministering to the human spirit. Many call him the voice for social change; with his guitar and voice, Jencks continues to transcend his audience.
Seattle’s Victory Music Review says of his performance: “Joe Jencks is one of the Northwest's best-not-kept secrets; a singer-songwriter with a warm, smooth, powerful voice, and memorable finely crafted songs that have something to say. He moves freely between the worlds of contemporary acoustic pop and traditional folk, alternating and combining them into a rich and satisfying musical mosaic!”
The event is free and open to the public.
