(Worcester, Mass.) -- Daryl Davis will return to Worcester State University on Wednesday, February 22 at 11:30 a.m. to share his amazing story of being an African American who has infiltrated the KKK and witnessed many members renouncing their affiliation with the infamous group simply by getting to know him. Davis says he often makes supporters out of his detractors by proving his methods work. For the last 10 years, Davis, author of the book “Klan-Destine Relationships,” has received robes and hoods from Klan members who came to him to rescind their beliefs. When Davis first presented “One Man’s Journey to Infiltrate the KKK” in February 2008, he shared stories of exciting encounters and amusing anecdotes, leaving his audience of Worcester State students feeling empowered to confront their own prejudices and overcome their fears. Davis earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Howard University. An accomplished blues and R&B musician, he performs regularly with his own Daryl Davis Band. He has toured extensively with Muddy Water's Legendary Blues Band and Chuck Berry, among others. As a race relations expert, Davis has received acclaim for “ Klan-Destine Relationships” and his work in race relations from many respected sources including CNN, CNBC, Good Morning America, The Learning Channel, National Public Radio, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, The Baltimore Sun, The American Ethical Union, and The Washington Ethical Society. Davis will speak in the Student Center’s Blue Lounge.
