(Worcester, Mass.) -- On Thursday July 19, Worcester Center for Crafts will host the 3rd annual Hot Night in the City. This is a block-party-style open house that is free of charge and open to the public. Hot Night in the City will allow the community to observe “hot techniques” such as; raku firing, pottery making, enameling, blacksmithing, precious metal clay, glass bead making, and other hot processes.
The goal of the Worcester Center for Crafts and Hot Night in the City is to celebrate and sustain craft within the community through demonstration, presentation and celebration, while finding inspiration in the heat of the season and the processes, while helping to develop a greater awareness of the scope and dynamic of craft. For more information about this event please call the Worcester center for Crafts at 508-753-8183.
Hot Night in the City will feature over 15 talented artists demonstrating their “craft” with emphasis on the “hot” processes. In addition to demonstrations, the Krikorian Gallery will exhibit art work by the AP Art students of the Worcester Public Schools. There will also be live music performed by the Joy of Music Program.
Hot Night in the City will take place in the parking lot and inside of Worcester Center for Crafts on 25 Sagamore Road. There will be indoor and outdoor demonstrations. This event will happen on July 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.
The Dogfather of Worcester will sell hot dogs and refreshments to all guests. French fries, fried dough, chili, and other food will also be sold.
Hot Night in the City is funded in part by the Worcester Arts Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural council, a state agency.
