(Worcester, Mass.) -- The Worcester State University Board of Trustees approved the appointments of two academic deans and an interim associate vice president for academic affairs at its June 11 meeting.
Frank Hall, Ph.D., was named dean of the School of Education, Health, and Natural Sciences, effective July 2, 2012. Dr. Hall holds a doctorate in Geological Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island. He was most recently director of the Secondary STEM Education Program at Texas A & M University - Commerce. He also served as a program officer of the National Research Council, National Academy of Sciences, and as a program manager at the National Science Foundation.
Charles Fox, Ph.D., was named dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, effective July 30, 2012. Dr. Fox holds a doctorate in Perceptual and Sensory Psychology/Behavioral Neuroscience from Brandeis University and a Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. He was most recently dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Point Park University and also served as associate dean for Academic Affairs and Research, College of Health Professions, Wichita State University.
Patricia Marshall, Ph.D., was named interim associate vice president for Academic Affairs, effective July 1, 2012. Dr. Marshall holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic studies from Brown University and was most recently chair of the Department of World Languages at Worcester State University.
Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Charles Cullum, Ph.D., said, “We are fortunate to have these talented individuals join our administrative staff. They bring a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience that will enhance the academic experience of our students.”
