COMMUNITY COLLEGE, STATE UNIVERSITY & UMASS STUDENTS UNITE FOR PUBLIC HIGHER EDUCATION “ADVOCACY DAY”
First-ever Joint Advocacy for Increased Support of Public Higher Education
Boston, MA – Worcester State University will join a broad coalition of students, faculty and supporters of Massachusetts public colleges and universities in an all-out, united effort to convince legislators of the critical need to support the educational aspirations of more than 200,000 students enrolled at public colleges and universities across the Commonwealth.
The March 8 Massachusetts Public Higher Education Advocacy Day will open with a program in Gardner Auditorium where students will share personal accounts of their struggles to finance their education, and the resulting delays for many in their ability to graduate and enter the workforce. Following the morning program, students will fan out across the State House for meetings with their legislative representatives.
