Shiko Gathuo, Ph.D.

Shiko Gathuo obtained a Bachelor of Education degree from Kenyatta University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, before joining the Ph.D. in Public Policy program at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Prior to joining the faculty at Worcester State College, Shiko worked at the William Monroe Trotter Institute (UMass) as a research associate and the managing editor of the Trotter Review.  Her research interests include democratization, human rights and social justice issues, and the role of civil society.
