Every junior, senior, and graduate student is required to maintain current certification in basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillation (AED) for adults and children. A copy of one’s certificate must be submitted to the OT Department by August 15th of the junior and graduate years. Students must be certified for two years at a time and the certification cannot expire during a semester. Regularly scheduled CPR/AED training and re-certification classes are provided by the Red Cross. Students are encouraged to contact the local chapters of this organization to secure the required certification. CPR/AED courses completed online will not be accepted. (Updated June, 2012)
