Adjunct faculty (day & evening) are paid seven times during the semester.

Summer adjunct faculty are paid once at the end of the semester.

How do I get my check?

Pay checks/advices for non-student employees are distributed from the Human Resources Office after 1:00 p.m. on every other Friday according to the calendar of pay dates.

Pay checks for student employees are distributed from the Bursar's Office after 11:30 a.m. on Fridays according to the calendar of pay dates.

Can I have my check deposited directly
into my bank account(s)?

Direct deposit is a condition of employment for all state employees. Forms are available in the Payroll Office.

Do I have to sign up for direct deposit?

Yes, the Office of the State Comptroller requires all employees paid through HRCMS to sign up for direct deposit as a condition of employment.

What happens if I need to change my account(s)
or I want to add another account?

Just complete a new direct deposit authorization form making sure to list ALL your accounts into which you wish to have your pay deposited. The new form supercedes the old one, so any accounts not listed on the new form will be deleted from your record.

Click here for more information on direct deposit.

How long does a change to my direct deposit take
to go into effect?

Changes to amounts only can be entered almost any time and will take effect with the next paycheck.

Changes to transit routing numbers (banks) and/or accounts require a pre-note process which is only performed on pay days. So the change won't take effect until the following pay cycle.

Click here for more information on direct deposit.

Can I have my check mailed to me?

Yes, regular state employees can arrange to have their pay check/advices mailed to them by completing a Pay Check/Advice Distribution Election Form (available in the Payroll Office).

What is a pay advice?

A pay advice is the Commonwealth's name for your pay check stub. It shows a breakdown of your gross pay, deductions, leave balances, direct deposit distribution and net pay.

I lost my advice. Can I get another one?

You can view and print your pay advices using PayInfo

What is PayInfo?

PayInfo is a web-based application that allows state employees to access their personal payroll information through the Internet. Click here for more information: PayInfo.

I lost my paycheck. How do I get a replacement?

Notify the Payroll Office immediately, and we will notify the State Treasurer's Office. They will put a stop order on the check and issue a replacement once the bank confirms that the check has not been cashed. This usually takes at least 10 business days. The replacement check will be sent to the Payroll Office; and we will notify you upon receipt.

I just found an out-dated check. What do I do?

Bring the check to the Payroll Office. If it is an HRCMS check, we will return it to the State Treasurer's Office who will issue a replacement check, usually within a week to 10 days.

If it is a check produced on the local payroll, we will issue a replacement check as soon as possible -- within the week.
