UNIONS

Employees at Worcester State University are represented by four unions. Dues or an agency service fee are deducted bi-weekly. A number of administrators and a few classified employees are excluded from union membership due to the nature of their positions. For information regarding dues and/or benefits of membership, contact the appropriate union office on campus.

·         Faculty and Librarians are represented by the Massachusetts Teachers' Association/NEA, MSCA Chapter. As of July 1, 2012, annual dues are $885.

·         Adjunct Faculty teaching through the Graduate and Continuing Education program are represented by the MTA/NEA, MSCA, DGCE.

·         Administrators are represented by the Association of Professional Administrators, MTA/NEA. As of July 1, 2012, annual dues are $745.70.

·         Classified Employees are represented by the American Federation of State,County,and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), AFL-CIO State Council #93, Local 1067. A.F.S.C.M.E. members are divided into Unit I and Unit II employees. Clerical and Technical personnel belong to Unit I; Maintenance and Security personnel belong to Unit II. As of January 1, 2012, the dues are $17.95 per pay period.
