Keys & OneCard
WSC Key Distribution Process
The Worcester State College Police issue keys for the lower campus buildings, academic, facilities, and the student center only. All Residence Hall keys are issued and maintained by the Residence Life staff.
The following is the key issuance and return policy:
• A requestor of a key must e-mail Deputy Chief of Police,
Dan Morse at (dmorse@worcester.edu) and specify the
need for a key, replacement of hardware, or repair. The
Department Chair or Director of the area in which the
key is being requested must be the one to approve
the request and send the e-mail.
• If repairs or hardware replacement is required, the locksmith
vendor is contacted and a service date is scheduled.
• Once the keys are received, individual orders, or hardware
replacements are completed, the “requestor” is contacted by
the college police. The individual who will be assigned the “new”
key must come to the college police in person to sign for the
key. No designees will be allowed to pick up orders for persons
who will possess the key.
• Information associated with the key such as person assigned,
location, lock number, and amount of keys issued will be
entered into a database at the college police department. This
database will be updated and maintained by the Deputy Chief.
• Lost keys must be reported immediately to the college police
via e-mail to Deputy Chief Morse.
• When a person terminates his employment with Worcester
State College it will be the responsibility of Human Resources
to obtain and document all property belonging to the college
including keys prior to the last paycheck being distributed.
• The returned keys will be given back to college police for re-
distribution.
