

Welcome to the 2012-13 academic year.
We are pleased to have you join us. Feel free to stop by the Psychology Office to meet our secretary, Kim Albro. She knows the answer to many of the questions you may have. And, if she does not know, she may be able to find out who does. Also, stop by and meet your advisor and visit with your Psychology teachers. We hold office hours designed to meet with our students. Take advantage of this opportunity to spend time in the department getting to know us and seeking assistance that will help direct your studies.

Preregistration for Spring 2013 courses
Advising for preregistration into major and minor courses for Spring 2013 has begun. You should see your advisor as soon as possible. Sign-up sheets are available on your advisor's office door. Find an available time and list your name. Preregistration will begin on November 7th. On that day, Seniors will be allowed to sign into the courses they need/want for next semester. On November 8th, juniors will have an opportunity to sign into courses with Sophmore signing up on November 9 and Freshmen on the 10th. General Registration will begin on November 14th. Once again, Seniors will have first preference with Juniors signing up on November 15th, Sophmores on the 16th and Freshmen on the 17th. You can sign up for major and minor courses on your assigned day online or at the Registrar's Office. In order to sign in at the Registrar's Office you will need to bring a preregistration form signed by your advisor as documentation that you have been advised on your selection of courses. If you wish to sign into courses online, your "pin" must be released. This can only be done by the department secretary when she receives your preregistration form signed by your advisor.

Psych Club
Are you looking to belong to an organization at Worcester State? Are you interested in building your resume, attending conferences, volunteering, or becoming a part of an experience that offers you to build character skills, leadership skills, as well as become a well rounded individual? The Psychology Club will challenge you, and offer you various opportunities. The Psychology Club welcomes all students regardless of their majors. The Psychology Club meets every other Thursday at 3pm in Sullivan 238 (across from the Psychology Department). Psych Club Kickoff Party
The first Psych Club Kick Off meeting will be next Thursday, September 22 - yay! :) This meeting will take place in S238 (across from the Psychology Department) from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Come join us for pizza, tie-dye, and games! There will be some apparel available but if you have anything you want to tie dye please bring it with you! Come learn about what Psych Club is all about and bring some of your own ideas for future meetings!! :) We hope to see you there! :) -Psych Club Officers

Internships
Seniors who are interested in obtaining a job in the field upon graduation but do not have work experience should consider an internship next semester. A description of agencies willing to take on interns may be accessed in the subsection Internships on the left side of this screen. Students who are currently working in a position related to Psychology may qualify for internship credit. The position must involve work duties that are responsible in nature. For example, filing forms for an agency would not qualify. Students should check with Dr. Rick Kimball as to whether their jobs qualify for credit. Students would, of course, be required to complete the academic requirements associated with the internship.
