• 24th Annual Have a Heart Auction

For over two decades, along with the generous support of community members, the SGA’s Auction has raised over $313,000 for assisting those in need. 2016 will mark the 24th year the Student Government Association at Worcester State University will be holding the Have a Heart Auction to benefit the Homeless and Children in Need.

This year, the Have a Heart Auction aims to raise $24,000, or $1,000 for each year WSU has held the Auction. This year’s proceeds will benefit three Worcester area charities:

    • Abby’s House, which focuses on providing shelter, housing, and advocacy for homeless and abused women and their children.
    • The Mustard Seed Foundation of Worcester, which offers food and an emergency service for many of the area’s homeless and in-need children, families, and elderly.
    • Sherry’s House, which provides a place for children and their families to come and receive the emotional, financial, and other support and encouragement they need to fight childhood cancer.

The extraordinary generosity and support we receive from community members never ceases to amaze all those involved with the Auction. This year, as we work to raise $24,000 in fundraising and donations, we find ourselves calling on the community to reaffirm the Auction’s philosophy of helping those in need.

There are two ways in which you can participate in the 24th Have a Heart Auction:

  • Donate
Any donation of a product, service, gift certificate, or cash contribution is vital to reaching our goal. All donated items will be publicized in auction-related advertisements on the WSU campus, on our website, and in the Worcester community – unless otherwise specified. Donations can be dropped off in the Office of Student Involvement, located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center at Worcester State University.
The success of the auction depends not only on item donations, but also on the charitable donations at the auction. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to the event to help us reach our $24,000 goal.
  • For question or additional information regarding the three charitable organizations, additional fundraising events, and/or the use of the proceeds, please contact the Student Government Association.
