My relationship with Helen Shaughnessy dates back to the late 1940’s when I was a toddler growing up on Vernon Hill in Worcester.  Helen (or Go-Go as I called her) was my babysitter!

 

Years later when I came to Worcester State she was my supervisor when I student taught in a 6th grade in Tatnuck.  Helen was the person who spent hours talking to me about teaching and who convinced me that what I really should do was first grade!  I have always been grateful to her for taking her time, energy and patience.
