Adam Zahler earned his MFA in Drama with a concentration in Directing at the University of Virginia and holds a BA from the University of Vermont. As a free-lance director in the greater Boston area, his productions have been honored with numerous awards including Elliot Norton Awards for Outstanding Production (Stonewall Jackson’s House, 2001) and Outstanding Director (Permanent Collection, 2005). His work has been seen at New Repertory Theatre, Lyric Stage Company of Boston, Speakeasy Stage, Stoneham Theatre, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Nora Theatre Company, The Theatre Coop, and Lyric Stage West. As Artistic Director of The Open Stage in Vermont, he co-produced a cultural exchange with the Volkov Theatre in Yaroslavl, Russia including a two-week tour in Russia with an original production. He has served as Producing Associate at New Repertory Theatre in Massachusetts, Artistic Director of Second Stage in Vermont and Associate Director of Vermont Repertory Theatre. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous productions, as well as small films, commercials, and voiceovers. He is a member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
