Michael C. Hachey
B.F.A., M.F.A., Massachusetts College of Art
Professor Michael Hachey was awarded B.F.A. and M.F.A. degrees from the Massachusetts College of Art. His artwork has ranged from large drawings and structures created on-site in galleries and museums to intimate, painted color abstractions inspired by musical form and scientific imagery. Professor Hachey is a recipient of the Gibson Faculty Art Award from Worcester State College, the Prize for Works on Paper from the ARTSWorcester Biennial, a federal government Art-in-Achitecture Commission, and project grants and fellowships from the New England Foundation for the Arts, and the Massachusetts Artists Foundation. His work has been exhibited at the Hewlett Gallery of Carnegie Mellon University, the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, the Cantor Art Gallery of the College of the Holy Cross, and at the Worcester Art Museum. His teaching is concentrated in courses of two- and three-dimensional design and drawing and painting. Professor Hachey is presently the Chair of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.
