Worcester State Theatre announces plays for 2010/2011

Worcester State Theatre and the Department of Visual and Performing Arts announce the plays for the 2010/2011 academic year.

The fall production is William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.  The power of Shakespeare’s most political play lies in its continued pertinence to modern events. With Julius Caesar, a charismatic and controversial leader, set to gain power, a group of politicians plot his assassination, and rival factions vie for control of Rome.

Boy Gets Girl by Rebecca Gilman is the spring
production.  Theresa, a successful journalist, goes on a couple of dates with Tony and decides that’s enough.  He doesn’t take the hint and soon Theresa’s life is spinning out of control.  Rebecca Gilman takes us on a harrowing ride through the landscape of stalking, in this strikingly relevant, 21st century play.

The Tragedy of Julius Caesar: November 18-21, 2010

Boy Gets Girl: April 14-17, 2011
