Interviews


Faculty Interview Process:
When applicants are chosen for available faculty openings in Worcester State University's academic departments, the Department Chair (who must meet with each candidate), students of the specific discipline, faculty not on the search committee, and/or members of an external advisory committee will interview the candidates.  Candidates must also meet with academic deans and the Vice President for Academic Affairs; a meeting with the President is optional.  Finally, the candidates may teach a sample course to current Worcester State University faculty and students in the intended discipline.

Once the interviews have been conducted, the Search Committee will send their recommendations to the appropriate Department Chair.  Finalists will be notified of follow-up interviews shortly after their original interview. 

Administrative Interview Process:
When applicants are chosen for available administrative openings of Director and above at Worcester State University, the interviews will be conducted by students (if appropriate), the immediate supervisor, the Vice Presidents, and the President.

When applicants are chosen for available administrative openings of Staff Assistant or Staff Associate, the interviews will be conducted by the immediate supervisor, the appropriate Director, and the area Vice President or Dean.

Once the interviews have been conducted, finalists will be notified of follow-up interviews shortly after their original interview.

Classified Interview Process:
When applicants are chosen for available classified openings at Worcester State University, a Search Committee is created to interview the chosen candidates.  Once the interviews have been conducted, the Search Committee will send their recommendations to the appropriate Department Chair.  Finalists will be notified of follow-up interviews shortly after their original interview.
