Purpose:
To define the prerequisites necessary to support the conversion of analog content into a digital format
Statement:
Prior to the conversion of any analog content into a digital format, appropriate copyright permissions and risk assessment must be obtained in writing.
Description:
- Written permission must be obtained in advance from the analog content's original copyright holder(s) prior to the conversion of analog content into a digital format.
- Written permission must be obtained in advance from the analog content's original copyright holder(s) regarding the dissemination of content after its conversion into a digital format.
Additional Information:
- Recognizing that the process of converting analog content into a digital format could potentially damage or destroy original materials, all requests for conversion must include an indemnification release for Worcester State College and its employees.
