AFSCME Meal Reimbursements During Overtime

Policy
The AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement, Article 15, Section 3 allows for members that work three or more hours of overtime, exclusive of their normal meal period, are eligible for reimbursement for meals based on the schedule shown in the contract.
Procedure
When completing the weekly time sheet, if there was overtime worked that qualifies the employee for this reimbursement, the employee must submit a receipt along with the time sheet showing the date, time and cost of any meal. That receipt should be attached to the time sheet and approved by the Department Head or their designee. Reimbursements for these documented expenses will be made through the Payroll department and will be processed and paid as Reimbursement.
Guidance
Please be advised that as this is a reimbursement, a receipt for the expense must be included or no reimbursement will be made. Also, reimbursements will only be processed for the current pay period. Retroactive documentation and requests will not be honored.
