I. The Conference and Event Services Office will not contact clients in the event the University is closed due to inclement weather or because of any unforeseen situation which may arise.
II. Clients are expected to contact speakers, presenters and participants of an event to notify them of the University’s closing.
III. If there is a delay in opening the University, events with start times within 2 hours after the University officially opens will be cancelled.
IV. If the University is open and hosting events but you as the Sponsor or Client wish to cancel an event, because of inclement weather, you may do so within the cancellation guidelines stipulated. If your cancellation is not received in the timeframe as outlined you may be held responsible for food service fees as well as any costs already incurred by the University.
V. Neither party will be responsible for a performance if a single party is not able to perform such obligations due to circumstances beyond its control, including without limitation, acts of God, fires, floods, wars and civil disturbances, acts of terrorism or governmental actions.
VI. In the event of such an occurrence, the University will return any deposits, minus University expenses to date, prior to such occurrence, and no penalties or additional charges will be imposed on either party.
