What is the financial aid deadline?
March 1 is the priority deadline for filing the FAFSA (Late applications will be considered, subject to the availability of funds.) Other important dates in the financial aid cycle are:
- October 1 is the first day students can file their annual Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov
- November 1 is the deadline for on-time consideration for financial aid for students entering a college in the spring
- May 1 is the deadline for applying for the MASSGrant and for on-time consideration for financial aid for students entering a college in the fall
What happens if I miss orientation?
Not only is orientation a chance for you to make new friends and become familiar with campus, but you also will be spending a lot of time learning about your academic program and other facets of campus life. We strongly recommended that you attend a first-year student orientation program in June. If you are unable to attend any of these orientation sessions, you will be invited to participate in a transfer orientation session in August.
What placement tests do I need to take?
New students may take Accuplacer tests to determine math, writing, and reading placement during a
Student Registration Day.
What internships are available?
We partner with a growing network of businesses and organizations to develop meaningful internship opportunities. Our internships, practicums, and clinicals are coordinated by the Career Services Offices or individual academic departments. Last year, 156 students completed for-credit internships with 141 employer partners.
Can I have a car on campus?
It depends. Commuter students with a valid parking decal can park in surface lots D, F, G, H, K, L, and O, floors 3-6 in the parking garage (Lot C), and the overflow Chandler Street Lot (Lot Q) between 5 and 1 a.m. Resident students who have been approved and have purchased a resident-student parking decal are able to park either in the on-campus lots near the residence halls or our satellite parking lot at 140 Goddard Memorial Drive.
What is there to do on campus?
Our campus is always a whirl of social and cultural activities, including films, live music and arts performances, speakers, sports, fundraisers, and community-wide special events. We host annual campus celebrations such as Family Weekend, Homecoming, Winter Week, Commuter Appreciation Day, and the Multicultural Festival. Joining one or more of our 35+ student clubs and organizations is another way to stay busy and meet new friends.
Are there merit scholarships?
We offer over 100 merit scholarships. Accepted students are automatically reviewed for merit scholarships; no additional application is required.
