| About | Conference and Event Services | COVID-19 Requirements at University Events
Participants/attendees must adhere to all applicable local/state/federal laws, Massachusetts Executive Orders and guidance, and University policies related to COVID-19. The University reserves the right to refuse admittance or remove individuals for failure to comply from facilities at which University events are taking place.
COVID-19 is highly contagious and there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any place where people are present. COVID-19 can lead to severe illness and death. While people of all ages and health conditions have been adversely affected by COVID-19, certain people have been identified by public health authorities as having greater risk based on age and underlying medical conditions. Participants, staff, or guests in high risk categories should not participate or attend.
The University cannot and does not promise to eliminate the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and cannot and does not promise that participants/attendees will not contract COVID-19. By entering facilities at which University events are taking place, individuals acknowledge awareness of the associated risks and that it is possible that he/she/they may contract COVID-19 during their presence in the facility.
Proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test is not required to enter the facility at this time. Please check this page regularly for updates resulting from changes to local/state/federal laws, Massachusetts Executive Orders and guidance, and University policies.
To participate or attend, individuals must show no signs or symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days. A current list of symptoms is available from the Center for Disease Control (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html).
A mask mandate is in effect for all common and public indoor areas. A face covering must always be worn by guests, aged five years and older, in all indoor areas except while actively eating or drinking. Face coverings will not be provided by the University or facility.
On campus, masks will be required for everyone:
Masks are recommended in other indoor spaces, but are no longer required.
Masks are optional while outdoors.
For any externally hosted event the Worcester State community will need to comply with COVID-19 requirements of the hosting organization. (For Undergraduate Commencement at the DCU Center, face coverings will be required and vaccinations are recommended.)
The University may be required to revise event capacities in order to comply with current requirements regarding gathering size. The University will provide the attendees with as much advance notice as possible in cases where event capacity revisions are required. Additionally, individuals must observe any applicable social distancing requirements while attending graduation events at Worcester State University or other facilities.
The University may be required to implement entry controls, such as physical screening (e.g., in-person temperature checks), virtual screening (e.g., completion of questionnaire), or other methods of entry control.
