Professor Bullens teaches courses in mass communication, film, photography, digital imaging and public speaking. During his 34-year tenure he served as Chair of the Communications Department for 16 years. As chair, he has been responsible for coordinating academic review programs, internships, and program design and course development. He also served as Assistant to the President and was director of the Transitional Freshman Program. His other activities included establishing Alpha Epsilon Rho Chapter, organizing the Worcester State College Annual Photography Exhibit and serving as Photography Advisor for the Student Voice Newspaper and the College Yearbook. Prof. Bullens has served on the following faculty committees: All College Committee, Academic Policy, Curriculum, Commencement and Affirmative Action.
Prof. Bullens also has independent production experience with freelance photography and video production. He has produced and directed TV programs and multi-media presentations for various social agencies, including Worcester Cable Vision, Massachusetts Family Planning and area public schools. In addition, Prof. Bullens has been a media consultant for a variety of Massachusetts' agencies including the Department of Mental Health, the Office of Community Development, and the Worcester Area Chamber of Commerce.
