Generally Teaches: Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry
Research Summary: My research efforts have been directed toward the
synthesis of new drug-like organic compounds, including medicinal chemistry,
process development, and evaluation of the compounds with a focus of
understanding the mechanism of action in the living body.
We are currently working on the synthesis of the metabolites of an
antibacterial drug candidate for Clostridium Difficile, including an
evaluation of its activity and toxicity portfolio. We will also work on the
new method of development in synthesis of bioactive active compounds,
to evaluate the applications and to promote green chemistry disciplines.
We are also collaborating with UMass Medical School to design
biocompatible organic triplet-triplet annihilation upconversion (TTA-UC)
nanoparticles and develop upconversion thin-films.
