    in Health Education

The Master of Education in Health Education program at Worcester State University provides you with the knowledge and skills to become a certified health education specialist. With convenient evening, weekend, and online classes, our flexible, part-time program is designed to work with your busy schedule. It’s an affordable way to earn your master’s degree in health education in just 2 years.

In small classes taught by our expert faculty, you’ll explore a diverse array of topics in health education from health theory to curriculum development to research methods. Through interactive class discussions, you’ll gain valuable insight from the experiences of both your peers and professors—and you’ll make important professional connections with other health educators.

What’s more, you’ll have opportunities to delve into special topics in health as well as complete independent research in an area that interests you. You’ll demonstrate mastery of program coursework by completing our capstone Seminar in Health, which focuses on current health topics with an emphasis on a health educator’s key responsibilities and competencies in various settings. Upon passing the national certified health education specialist (CHES) exam, you’ll earn your master’s degree from WSU.

Graduates of our program are well qualified to work at nonprofit organizations, private institutions, and other health and human service agencies. In addition, many have found success as teachers in grades K-12. In fact, for currently licensed public school teachers, the master’s degree in health education may be used toward professional educator licensure in Massachusetts.
