The purpose of this policy is to establish requirements and recommendations for distributed web pages and sites.

WSU reserves the top 20% pixels of each page design for common branding and navigation elements. The elements will be displayed in a top shared border; the contents present in this location may not be deleted or modified under any circumstance. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in the immediate removal of such material from any of WUS's main or affiliated websites.

Browser Compatibility/Accessibility Requirements

  • Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 6.0 or better.
  • All pages should strive to meet ADA accessibility guidelines.

Content Regulations

  • E-commerce and affiliate marketing relationships are prohibited.
  • All content must adhere to WSU's acceptable use policy.
  • Top-level (home) pages must contain authoring and contact information.

Page Scaling and Colors Recommendations

  • Resolution: 800 x 600.
  • Assume 15” CRT monitor.
  • Colors 256 strongly recommended.
  • Tables: 770 pixels maximum.

Page and Element Design Recommendations

  • All body text elements: 10 pt. Arial strongly recommended.
  • Headings/Titles: 18 pt. Arial maximum.
