Check out what is happening right here on campus, or in the city of Worcester, the second largest city in Massachusetts and one of the 10 “Most Livable” cities in the United States.

Tutoring Services
Registered IELI students are eligible to sign up for free tutoring for a maximum of 2 times per week. IELI tutors are Worcester State students, retired IELI instructors, ESL professionals, and other qualified members of the general public. Contact Leah Guzman at lguzman@worcester.edu to learn more.
Buddy Program
In our Buddy Program, volunteers from the Worcester community open their hearts and their homes to IELI students for 1-3 hours a week. Go shopping, play ball, discuss politics, or explore other common interests in an informal setting that allows for more natural English acquisition while forming potentially lifelong friendships! Contact Leah Guzman at lguzman@worcester.edu to learn more.
Certificate of Completion
At the end of each semester, we hold a ceremony to award certificates of completion to our successful students. We invite the Worcester State community and encourage students to invite their family and friends to join in the celebration. If you are an exceptional IELI student, we may ask you to share your personal story and the ways learning English at IELI will help you in the future.
