WEATHER UPDATE: The previously scheduled Wednesday 1/25/23 and Thursday 1/26/23 theatre auditions have been postponed due to inclement weather. In-person auditions will now be held on Friday 1/27/23 from 6pm – 9pm, with a self tape option for those who are unable to attend on Friday. Audition and self tape details are as follows:

SHARE A STORY (2 MINUTE MAX)
- This story should be something personal that you have created yourself—a story from your own life that holds meaning to you.
- You may write it down and memorize it, or share it meaningfully from the page.
- You may also have the essence of your story prepared and improvise/engage with the creative team in real time.
ENGAGE IN A BRIEF DISCUSSION WITH THE CREATIVE TEAM
- Please be prepared to discuss why you chose your song, along with your experience conceptualizing, creating, and sharing your story.
SELF TAPE SUBMISSION PATHWAY
- Applicants may submit a self-taped audition in lieu of an in-person audition.
- All self-taped auditions must be submitted before Friday January 27, 2023 by 6pm.
- Please include your name in the subject of the email followed by “SPELLING BEE Self Tape” (i.e. “Jane Foster, SPELLING BEE SELF TAPE”).
- If you need assistance with using your webcam (built-in or USB) to record your audition, check out this walkthrough for both PC and Mac computers.

CALLBACK REQUIREMENTS
- Callbacks will be a collaborative workshop process, engaging with the entire group for the full 3 hours each Session.
- In order to be considered for a role, you must participate in both Session 1 and Session 2 of the Callback process.
You will be called back as an ensemble to engage with ensemble building and movement work.
Please wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in.
You will be called back for specific roles / asked to engage with specific sides from The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
