The Role of Information Technology Services (ITS)
The world of Artificial Intelligence is evolving quickly, and Information Technology Services (ITS) is committed to supporting the Worcester State University community in exploring and leveraging these new tools effectively and responsibly.
What We Do?
Our primary goal is to provide a secure and reliable foundation for you to use AI.
- Secure Access: We manage the Worcester State University sign-in process for AI tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot and Google Gemini. This ensures that your access is secure and authenticated, often using Worcester State University’s Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
- Data Protection: We work with vendors like Microsoft and Google to enable enterprise-level security features. By having you sign in with your Worcester State University account, we ensure that your interactions with these tools have enhanced privacy and data protection, which is not available in the free, public versions.
- Guidance: We develop clear guidelines to help you understand how to use these tools while protecting university data and your own privacy.
What’s Next?
ITS is actively monitoring the landscape of AI. We will be providing updates, resources, and training opportunities as these tools become more integrated into our daily work and academic life. Stay tuned for announcements about workshops and new resources.
