Bio

Throughout her career, Julie has collaborated with faculty as both a librarian and digital learning consultant in small liberal arts environments. One fun fact is that she has a rich history with women’s colleges, having studied or worked thus far at Mount Holyoke(MHC), Scripps, Smith, and William Smith Colleges. At MHC, Julie coordinated several initiatives, including the development (and then teaching) of an information fluency course and a student peer-based Technology Mentor Program. At HWS, she administered a number of innovation grants including Innovative Digital Pedagogies, Innovative Classrooms, and AsiaPod.

At Worcester State, based in the Center for Teaching and Learning, Julie is excited to draw from all of her higher ed experiences, including a recent certificate in instructional design. Among her responsibilities, Julie facilitates faculty learning communities (most recently related to AI & pedagogy), oversees the Summer Undergraduate Research Grant (SURG) Program, and curates teaching resources. In the near future, Julie hopes to infuse more student perspectives to promote inclusive learning environments by pursuing student-faculty pedagogy partnerships, an approach Computer Science is piloting with her!

Julie recently had the joy of teaching an interdisciplinary seminar in the Commonwealth Honors Program.
