Worcester State University and the Visual and Performing Arts Department Present
Macbeth
by William Shakespeare
When a trio of weird sisters foretell his rise to kingship, Scottish general Macbeth and his ambitious wife choose to usurp King Duncan to see the prophecy fulfilled. Combining themes of ambition, betrayal, and uncontrolled power, Shakespeare’s classic tragedy invites audiences to explore the contrast between appearance and reality, the question of destiny versus free will, and the conflict between good and evil.
