Frederick Jenoure, founder and president of FEJ Consulting, has more than 40 years of experience in leadership positions with several prestigious institutions and community organizations, focusing on management and organizational structures, diversity and inclusion, supervisory training, property management, conflict resolution, and union negotiations.
His current client list includes Worcester State University, an organization that initially contracted with him in the summer of 2022 to help improve relations with student organizations. His service to WSU has since evolved to Jenoure being named the University’s Student Ombudsman and an adjunct faculty member.
Other clients of FEJ Consulting include the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where Jenoure plays a leadership role in several projects to improve the patient experience for people of color. He also chairs a community advisory board for UMASS Chan Medical School that is composed of numerous community and corporate leaders.
Jenoure was elected chair of the board of directors of Ascentria Care Alliance in 2021. Ascentria, which is one of New England’s largest nonprofit organizations, with more than 60 locations throughout the region, has as its mission to serve the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our communities. Prior to becoming the board chair, he served as chair of the organization’s governance committee and a member of its finance committee, as well as representing the board on Ascentria’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access (DEIA) task force.
Jenoure is also currently working with TANGO (The Alliance for Nonprofit Growth and Opportunity) as Director of Diversity Initiatives. In that role, he serves as a key member of the group’s collective of management expertise that offers the valued insights and analysis that nonprofit organizations need to grow and move forward. In this role, he has led several educational workshops for its members.
Jenoure worked at the University of Hartford from 1993 to 2010, where he served in numerous leadership positions ranging from director of operations to university ombudsman to senior advisor to the president. He also worked as director of business development for DATTCO Inc., a regional transportation firm. In addition, he has held property and facilities management positions at Long Island University, Columbia University, Brandeis University, and Harvard Community Health Plan.
Jenoure was named Volunteer of the Year by the Urban League of Greater Hartford, which was recognized in a proclamation from then-Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell. He was also honored with the Adult of the Year Award from the YMCA of Central Mass., which was recognized in two proclamations from the Massachusetts state legislature.
He served as chairman of the board for the YMCA central branch and is a member of the central Massachusetts YMCA association board. Jenoure has also served as vice president of the Connecticut Council for the Advancement of Diversity, secretary of the board of directors of the Urban League of Greater Hartford, co-chair of the Adult Achiever Committee and member of the Steering Committee of the-Greater Hartford YMCA, a board member of Upper Albany Main Street, Inc.(in Hartford), a member of the board of directors of the Village for Families and Children (in Hartford), a director of the Connecticut Special Olympics Eastern Regional Games, and faculty coordinator for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event at the University of Hartford.
