Why should students get involved with your organization? Students should get involved in Active Minds if they feel strongly about breaking the stigma against mental health. If they want to be a part of a safe space and community. And to learn more information on mental health and how to support it. Also, if they want to help plan fun events and activities.

What types of events and/or programs do you do throughout the year?
Active Minds does at least one event every month. Usually it is themed to that month, and it is a way to get more people involved and included in our organization. We do bingos, stress-free days, we volunteer, we collaborate, we host events like Fresh Check Day, as well as sponsor things like Welcome Week and Proud Lancer Day. Overall, we like to be involved!

What has been one of the biggest successes of this organization?
I think the biggest success of Active Minds would be how it got brought back after being abandoned. In 2025, Active Minds was not an active club, and many freshmen were interested and quickly became a part of the eboard. Active Minds came back fiercely and quickly rose up to being recognized as a major organization again. We are still picking up pieces and learning the way, but Active Minds has made a huge turn for the better with no plans on leaving anytime soon.

What do you think your organization brings to the students at Worcester State?
Active Minds brings comfort to the campus; it brings nurture and respect and, most importantly, acceptance. Active Minds strives to be a positive and stable community for people to grow and feel safe and understood. Active Minds is a place for people to feel included and supported. Overall, Active Minds is an organization for everyone, and we take honor in teaching, helping, sharing, and learning together

How can interested students join your organization?
Interested students can come to any general meeting to introduce themselves and leave an email for our email list to get updates! Check us out at club kickoff to say hi and sign up! They can also email us directly and dm us on Instagram with a valid email as well. Once you’re on that email list, you are a part of the community with updates and plans and events being sent to everyone. Updates are also posted on Instagram to make sure no one misses anything

How can the campus community learn more about your programs and events?
The campus community can learn more about our programs and events by checking their email, following our Instagram page, and keeping an eye out for our advertisements and flyers hung up around campus, which go out two weeks before any event or activity.
