Faculty Mentoring Communities
Suite S-117
Who is in your “neighborhood?” How might you be a conversational partner to a colleague? CTL: The Faculty Development Center facilitates a faculty mentoring community that extends connections beyond one’s discipline. This initiative operates on the assumption that all faculty, regardless of status, have experiences and skills to offer one another.
Meet with a colleague to discuss:
- Teaching & learning strategies
- Research & scholarship
- Creative activity
- Work/life balance
- AI in higher ed
- Community engagement & services
- Campus culture & leadership and much more!
Join our WSU mentoring community today. Email CTL if you seek a conversational partner regarding a pedagogy topic.
Effective Spring 2026, we also have an AI Pedagogy Mentor Network:
- Nine AI pedagogy faculty mentors have assembled to connect with colleagues seeking support on pedagogical issues with AI.
- Mentors participate in one-on-one consultations with colleagues to share ideas, identify resources, troubleshoot and brainstorm new pedagogical approaches, and/or co-create instructional materials.
- CTL also facilitates group sessions for the cohort of mentors to cultivate a robust hub for faculty-driven pedagogical development and innovation.
- Inquire via Google Form to pair with a mentor.
We strongly encourage faculty to connect globally too. Worcester State is a proud member of the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD). The NCFDD is a nationally-recognized, independent organization that provides online career development and mentoring resources for faculty, staff, graduate students, and post-docs. To establish an NCFDD account and access resources for the first time, go to their web pages and use the “Is your institution already a member?” search box to locate “Worcester State University.” Follow additional prompts. Want to try something low stakes for research support? One specific NCFDD resource that WSU faculty rave about is their writing accountability program.
