Bio

My students and I try to solve questions of arthropod phylogeny and biogeography. We use data from DNA sequencing, Scanning Electron Micrography (SEM), light imaging, and GPS. We analyze these data with computer phylogenetics software, and other computer analysis tools.

I teach BI 140 Organismal Biology, BI 203 Genetics, BI 101 Concepts in Biology, BI 120 Darwinian Revolution, BI 130 / BI 430 Field Biology, some upper-level electives (Invertebrate Zoology, Entomology, Molecular Systematics), and every year or so, some Graduate Courses (Statistics, Molecular Evolution, Computer Programming for Biologists, etc.)
