George I. Alden Excellence in Teaching Award

CTL: The Faculty Development Center created the George I. Alden Excellence in Teaching Award as a means to publicly acknowledge professors who have made a difference in students’ lives through teaching excellence.

Worcester State University began as a teachers’ college and recognizes that teaching is still at the heart of what we do. Through the George I. Alden Excellence in Teaching Award, Worcester State has a public way of acknowledging the role of good teachers in students’ lives by honoring those who have most inspired them and contributed the most to their success through teaching excellence.

Each year, Worcester State recognizes current full-time Worcester State tenured or tenure-track professors who have consistently demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to teaching that is academically challenging and motivating. The Center for Teaching and Learning Alden Excellence in Teaching Award Selection Committee will be comprised of students and alumni.
